Introduction

This document describes the specifications for dotph domain registration. The registrar (front-end) may perform the following registration service procedures:

determine if a domain has been registered
buy a domain
update domain (edit webforwarding, edit domain info, etc.)

The System has no notion of state and every request to the server is expected to be independent of other requests.

The term “domain” is used in this document to refer to second level dot ph domains. Valid dot ph extensions are ph, com.ph, org.ph, net.ph, mil.ph and ngo.ph.

In examples, XMLINPUT represents message sent by the registrar client and XMLOUTPUT represents the response of the registry server (dotph). The terms "System" and “Server” are used in this document to refer to the dotph registry system.

SSL

It is not recommended to send requests in clear text, since requests contains registrar-sensitive information, such as the registrar's user identifier and password.

Testing

All partners are provided access to our test registration system. To access the test system:

  • Use the default test account (userid: testpartner, password: testpartner)
  • URL: http://phlnx.dot.ph/cgi-bin/testsrs/phbackend.pl
    https://phlnx.dot.ph/cgi-bin/testsrs/phbackend.pl

The test system and the live registry access different databases, a domain name that exists in the live registry may or may not be in the test system. You will not be billed for the domain names registered, for these domain names will not be propagated to the zone file.
